I live in a small city on the northern edge of Cincinnati. I moved to this part of Ohio in 1987 from the East coast, about 30 miles from the ocean. Right now, some of you are asking "Why?". It's a long story and if you really want to hear it, I'll make that the subject of some of my entries. My siblings (and their families) and dad still live in MD, my mother died the summer of 2005.

I'm interested in horticulture and have worked in landscaping since 1992. (I'm out of landscaping for the present.) Please note that the two of the intersect, but are not synonymous. Horticulture is a discipline and a field of study. Landscaping is a business, often executed poorly. My main occupation is in the maintenance dept. of a resort hotel. It pays the bills, haha.

I love to read. Kind of a history buff and WWII is a recurring subject. I have a B.A. in Psychology and an Associate's in Business/Landscape Horticulture.

Although in my 40's, I'm not in other ways. I want to use the term "kid at heart", but that usually conjures up the image of someone who's stuck at a place in their life and refuses to grow up. I'm stuck in places (I have dyslexia and recently found out that ADD usually accompanies dyslexia, which is news to me...), but I can definitely function as an adult and do the things I need to do. I don't have the trappings of many of my peers, and thus, few of the hangups. I look at a lot of ppl my age, even a bit younger, and feel no similarity to them. Still, we are at a similar stage in life and some of those things are universal. Reading Gail Sheehy's book, "Passages" has shed much light into that situation.

Cincinnati is a wierd place at times. It can be pretty cool tho. I guess the fact that I still live here is the final verdict.

I can be reached at dheadbawx@hotmail.com

Enough for now...more later...
